LILLY PLAU

Care

A piece from the atelier is meant to be worn for a lifetime and then for another. It asks for very little, and what it asks for is listed here.

Put jewellery on last and take it off first. Avoid perfume, hand cream and chlorinated water on the stones. Emerald in particular dislikes heat and sudden cold.

Each piece leaves with its own cloth case. Keep pieces apart: harder stones scratch softer ones, and gold marks against gold.

Lukewarm water, a drop of mild soap and a soft brush. No ultrasonic cleaners, no steam. Turquoise and pearls: a dry cloth only. Bring the piece to us once a year and we will do the rest.

Resizing, resetting, restringing and repolishing are carried out in the atelier by the hands that made the piece. Family pieces from other houses are considered case by case.

Lifetime, for the first and every subsequent owner. Manufacturing faults are corrected without charge. Wear and accidental damage are repaired at cost.
